R-407C is a non-flammable, non-ozone-depleting hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerant blend used in air conditioning and medium-temperature refrigeration systems. It is primarily known as a replacement for the phased-out R-22 refrigerant.

• Lubricant: Must be used with Polyolester (POE) oils, as it is immiscible with mineral oils.
• Charging: To prevent fractionation (component separation), R-407C should always be removed from the cylinder and charged into the system as a liquid.
• Environmental Status: While it has zero ODP, its high GWP of 1774 means it is subject to a global phase-down under the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol. Alternatives with lower GWP, such as R-454B or R-454C, are emerging.
